EC
Many-body physics and quantum simulations
Description
Short description:
Describing the quantum dynamics of interacting many-body systems is a challenging task. In particular the exponential growth of the Hilbert space size with increasing number of particles makes a theoretical and numerical description hard. In this course we will take a tour through selected topics in quantum many-body theory, introducing both analytical and numerical methods to approach the problem. We will develop an understanding of the limitations of our theory and introduce experimental platforms that in the future may server as "quantum simulation" platforms.
