Description

Analysis of biological questions from the point of view of physical chemistry and physics. Introduction to current research questions.

  • Methods. Introduction to the basic concepts of biophysics. Thermodynamics of macroscopic systems; transport and kinetics.

  • Methods of study: CD, IR, Raman, Fluorescence microscopy, EPR, NMR, X-Ray, Mass spectrometry).

  • General approaches on the compartments of the fluid and acid - alkaline balance: the biological problem. Biological Membranes and membrane proteins

  • Protein folding and missfolding; structure to function relation ; Protein- Protein interaction ; transport;

Compétences visées

Knowing which technique can be used for the study of complex biological questions. Having a good overview on spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.
