Objectives in terms of knowledge (course content):
Acquire basic skills in probability and inferential statistics to analyze data.

Compétences visées

Objectives in terms of acquired skills :

  • Undertand the difference between sample and population
  • Know how to distinguish between parameter and statistic
  • Know the general form of a confidence interval and its interpretation
  • Be able to conduct a hypothesis testing procedure Mann Whitney
  • Be able to perform parametric tests : proportion test, z-test, t-test, one-way ANOVA
  • Be able to perform non parametric tests : chi-square test, Fisher exact test, sign test, Wilcoxon test, Mann-Whitney test
  • Understand the notion of power of a test
