Description

Basic elements of nano drug delivery, nanomaterials and nanobiomedicine applications in different clinical areas such as gastrointestinal, pulmonary, cardiovascular, dermatological and odontological.
The lectures will be subdivided into two mains sections. In the first part of each lecture, general basic principles and aspects of nanophysiology and nanobiomedicine applicable to in vitro and in vivo models will be presented with special focus on nano drug delivery, nanocarriers, nanomanufacturing and QC validation of nanomedicines including nanomaterials and nanotoxicology. In the second part, the European regulatory environment in nanobiomedicine will be highlighted with special emphasis on the challenges involved with coexisting European and national legislation. Its impact on the pre-clinical and clinical development of nanomaterials and nanobiomedicines will be discussed.
Each teaching course will be composed of 1 h of lecture and 1 h of tutorial.
Tutorials will consist of detailed analysis of case study reports related to the topics of the lectures. Students will present the publication or part of a publication they had to study.
