Description

This course gives an introduction to multivariable functions: domain, level curves, limits, continuity, differentiability, directional derivatives, partial derivatives, gradients, as well as parametric curves: parametric representation, continuity, differentiability, tangents, and vector fields, curl, divergence, line and multiple integrals, spherical and cylindrical coordinates, Stokes, Green-Reimann theorems.

Compétences visées

At the end of this course, students will be able to determine and sketch the domain of a two variable function, sketch the level curves, sketch the function in 3D, determine the limits and partial derivatives and test whether the function is differentiable at a given point. Students will also be able to find parametric representation of a function, determine curl and divergence of a vector field, evaluate double and triple integrals, line integrals, and surface integrals, and apply Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem, and the Divergence Theorem while evaluating integrals, when appropriate.
