Description
Learning objectives (content of the course):
- Evolution of plant systems
- Components of a plant cell; plant cell wall
- Functional parts of a plant: roots, shoots, leaves
- Plant reproduction and seed development
- Photosynthesis and respiration
- Lipid metabolism; secondary metabolites (alkaloids, flavonoids, isoprenoids)
- Growth and development of plants: regulation by light and by phytohormones
- Applied use of plant systems – basics for plant biotechnology
