III. steps of transcription ; Initiation, transcription elongation and regulation of the transcriptional termination.
IV. Regulation of gene expression: lactose and tryptophan operon

Objectives in terms of competences:
This course aims at confronting the student with the fundamental principles of molecular biology in prokaryotes. Relevant basic terminology is introduced and general concepts and principles are presented. The differences between pro- and eukaryotes are introduced. Biotechnology applications with regards to transcription and gene regulation are discussed
