General chemistry I
Description
Objectives in terms of knowledge (course content :
- General Chemistry : atomic and molecular properties, hybridations, VSEPR, acides, bases, organic oxydo-reductions, nucleophile/electrophile. Dipoles and non covalent interactions, energetic aspects of chemical reactions, Hammond’s postulate, Curtin-Hammet principle.
- Stereochemistry : determination of relative and absolute configurations, enantiomers, diastereoisomers, meso compound, prochirality, aspects of stereoselectivity, conformational analysis.
- Organic Chemistry: Formation and reactivity of the main organic functions: carbonyle, acide and acide derivatives, alkene, alkyne, amine-imine, alcohol. Chemo- and regioselectivity. Aromatic and heteroaromatic chemistry.
- Basic bioorganic chemistry : sugars, lipides, aminoacides and peptides, nucleotides/nucleosides.

Objectives in terms of skills :
- Acquisition of the basic notions of organic chemistry as a theoretical to understand metabolic conversions and biochemistry.
